Searles Gardens Restoration
The MGC was invited to design and maintain the perennial gardens
surrounding Methuen’s historic Searles Building.
Ongoing maintenance
of these gardens is done weekly throughout the growing season by two
member teams, culminating with a fall cleanup gathering to put the gardens
to bed.
Dewhirst Funeral Home Landscaping
The MGC designed several gardens surrounding the Dewhirst Funeral
Home on Broadway in Methuen. The materials were funded by Dewhirst’s
and acquired in several shopping trips to area nurseries.
YMCA
The Methuen Garden Club members, Teresa Mosher
and Linda Yuele volunteered and planted some flower beds for The YMCA in
Methuen with 79 of the YMCA children. Walmart and our garden club donated
the plants and tools for the children to plant. A landscaper donated
the mulch. Benches that were made for donations were incorporated in
the designs. We put one under each of the 3 trees on the side and
one on the entrance flower beds. One of the entrance flower beds
Linda dedicated and donated a tree to one of her neighbors (an avid
gardener who passed away). We also made a flower bed where
the sign is located.

Members Planting 2010
The Methuen Garden Club offers you an opportunity for taking care of the planting of flowers at local cemeteries for a nominal fee. These are some members at the Elmwood Cemetery in Methuen after completing their tasks. Please contact us in the Spring if you would want us to plant flowers for Memorial Day at your loved ones gravesite.

The Methuen Garden Club is a proud 2010 Silver Sponsor of the Friends of the Nevins Memorial Library's GT3Fundraiser. The fundraiser was held on June 26 & 27, 2010 at Charles' magnificent Oakside property. All proceeds will be used towards a Contemplative Garden on the Nevins Memorial Library grounds. The garden is expected to break ground in 2011.
